Can a drive disk be resurfaced? Or is there just no leeway for dimesional change? This one is from a 530 and replacements that I have found seem a bit pricey compared to those available for some of the larger models.

The one on my B looked pretty bad too. I thought it would need to be turned. We have a local clutch rebuilder near here so I took it to them. The guy looked at it for about 1/2 a second, walked over to a bench and took out an air disk sander. Made a few passes around the surface and looked good as new. He handed it back and said have a nice day!

That is great service, I know I will keep going back!

Jason, I was going to suggest just that! It's same way you de-glaze a flywheel contact surface or disk brake rotors. I like to see the surface smooth enough to not have edges on the pitting because that can eat the facings. Otherwise, once together and not slipping, there's not much wear going on.

Just a good sandblasting to clean it up and it may even work fine. If you think it is out of wack or you just feel better knowing it is smooth than go ahead and resurface it. I have removed alot from the backsides of a few of them on A's 60's and a 50 just to get enough space for the clutch to work right when the splines are worn some letting them go back too far.

I don't think you will need to remove too much to clean them up.
