from looking at the paint codes to the left of this page, is the dupont dulex 262 the "classic" green. just double checking before the big expense with the paint. Thanks

i used jd classic green on my 48 and a wet look hardner. it wouldn't dry without a hardner in it. check with any sharp auto paint store guy and he should be able to fix you up. i really like using the jd bull primer under my yellow stuff. it took a lot less coats to cover it up than say a grey primer. that was in 1999 and its held up well. i keep it in a enclosed trailer all the time and that makes a big difference

Jim:

I have a green code for PPG and a yellow for DuPont, both in acrylic enamel, which should cross equally well into urethane products. Take a look. The shades with those codes are shown on my 70D in the color.

What are you painting? If it is for tractors and equipment in the 2 cylindar era I would recommend going to the John Deere dealer and getting their "classic green" paint from them. It is the best in my opinion. You can go to the paint and body forum for more information on using hardeners and such. I have heard dupont jd green will fade or turn a blue cast. I don't want to find out and repaint something. I just painted a 45w loader, 290 planter, and horse drawn lister/planter all with the jd brand paint an am very satisfied
