I just disassembled and cleaned the carburetor off my friends 520. It"s all back together now and I"m going to put it back on the tractor Tuesday evening. I"ve searched for info on how to adjust/tune it, but couldn"t find what I was looking for. Would someone be able to share this procedure with me? Thanks!

You adjust each idle screw while running on one cylinder. This step also locates carbs with plugged idle circuits.(lots) The mixture should be as lean as possible without stalling or stumbling when the throttle is cracked open. 1/2 to 1-1/4 turn depending..... ..... The main just bias screw maybe anywhere from 0 to 5 turns. Depends on the tractor, fuel and elevation. I set ours when running 100% on the pto generator. Too lean will make the exhaust pipe glow red out past the manifold. 1-800-522-7448 and get the manuals. You won't wasting $$$ and you will doing you and your buddy a favour.

So you are saying I should disable one cylinder while tuning the other? I was wondering if that would be the case since there are two carb throats.
Just pull the plug lead off?

Thanks.

look at JDHPubs.com. i'd start out with each adjusting screw back out 1 turn. give it plenty of time in between turns on the screws when you start backing them out. it doesn't take much to open them to much and foul a plug.

Wow! Great website! Thanks for the link! I'll definitely be reading this soon as I have a 1939 H myself.
