Hi guys, I"ve had a lot of luck asking questions on this forum. So, I may as well keep going. My 4010 sometimes continuously pops out of reverse in 1st and 2nd...as there is only three different reverse speeds on a 4010 sycro range. Anyhow, it only seems to happen when the RPMs are higher or when the tractor and tranny are warmed up after working for a while. Other than that, it shifts great. I never have a problem at all when I use 3rd gear reverse...although, it seems hard on the clutch when I"m trying to back-up something heavy. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be? How can it be fixed? Approximately how much could it pound the wallet? Thanks guys!!

Try adjusting the linkage to where the shift lever is in exact center of each shift station before you proceed with an expensive repair that might not be needed.Jiggle the lever to be sure of its location.

Thanks alot for the info. I hadn"t really thought of that, but it makes sense bcs the the shifting linkage is a little sloppy. I have to replace the fuel guage, so when I remove the dash panel housing, I"ll check out the shifting linkage aswell. Thanks for the help!
