A 60 head and carb on a styled A sold for about 1100. What about this cross over? Anyone tried this and what were the results?

Early 60 gas & all fuel still had the same single induction carb and head as the late A. Later 60 went to a dual induction carb, manifold and head setup for smoother running, more fuel economy and more power. As said below many late A and 60 parts will interchange. The factory LP 60 was always the dual induction setup.

I knew the AF's had the single barreled throat, but I thought all of the gassers came with a dual carburator. I remember looking at what was the first(?) 60 at a local dealer and marveling at the dual carburator. It struck me because we had a '38 Ford pick-up which had a two barrel. It seemed like the 60 made it from idle to full speed in the time that it took to move the throttle to full open,

Glen, as you probably know (but some others may not) the original carburetor on the 60 LP tractors was a SINGLE barrel, but "Y-ed" back to the dual induction head. These carburetors were all subject to a factory recall and were replaced by the familiar dual induction LP carburetor. I bought a 60 LP from it's original owner and he said the tractor actually ran better with the single barrel carburetor than it did afterwards with the "improved" version. This is only a reported opinion of someone else. But yes, from the block forward most 60 parts can be installed on a late A tractor (648,000 and up). Mike

Yes it works. There are a number of things that will interchange between the A and 60.

Do you have the manifolds off that head? I am interested in a 60 LP manifold set.
