I had the gear selector pattern piece off the tractor with just the shift lever coming up out of the housing, free to move in any direction. I was careful not to move it, but we had a party and someone grabbed on and started jerking it around. So I had to take the cover off and now I don't know where to put the end of the lever or what gear it's even in. Easy fix?

With the cover removed, move the shift rail(s) to thier center "neutral" position, and drop the cover back on, with the lever's ball going down into the center.
