I went to an auction here in northeast nebraska, and watched the first or very close to the first 620 lp sell. It was the 16th 620 built it had to of been the first lp. brought 3000 with a square wide front and factory dual hydrolics. the tractor was completely apart parts every where i think it was all there engine stuck. Does anybody know of a 620 any earlier, also was this a cheap buy considering the serial number.

I was at that auction also. I was kind of surprised to see it bring that much considering the condition. The rest of the tractors seemed to have went for decent prices though.

I thought the 620 was about right considering the serial number, and yeah the rest of the tractors were cheap. I bid on every twocylinder but the 620 and bought the 1949 AW for 1050 and i drove it on the trailer, what a steel.

Your tractor may well have been the first LP 620. My family owns 620LP serial number 18. My grandfather bought it new from a local dealer and we know that it had been tested at the experimental farm, dismantled, measured for wear, rebuilt and shipped to a dealer here in North Central Iowa. At that time, the dealer that it was shipped to got the test tractors on a regular basis. I would guess your tractor was probably also a test model.
