The rubber boots over the cv joints are shot. On the frt steering linkage. Two wheel drive. Looking for someone who has replaced the boots for pointers.

Don't waste your money on the fork. Its not a castled nut its a lock nut. Also its not a tractor, it only requires tapping to remove it.

they make a fork to slid over the tie rod ends to drive the joints apart. most of the nuts on tie rod ends are castle headed nuts and will not protect the threads good enough to use a hammer to drive them out with. if you don't use a fork at least replace the orginal nut with one that isn't a castle nut.

I just did mine a couple of months ago. I didn't even remove the tires, super easy. Cut the old boots off, loosen tie rod end jam nut then remove the ball joint from spindel. I did this by threading nut even with threaded part of ball joint then lightly taping ball joint up and out freeing it from spindel. With the nut even with the end it protects the ball joint threads. Take off the end of tierod remember how many turns. Slip on new boot then reassemble. I applied some extra grease, if your old grease is dirty you may want to clean it then add new grease. Try to keep grease off of where the rubber boot clamps. Good luck,Eli
