On my Jd model 401 industrial(2440 is about the same) The previous owner ran the tractor with the hydraulic pump coupling plastic bushings gone, now the coupling is shot.I need to replace the coupling and the bushings. Does anyone else sell the coupling other than the JD dealer? Another question; do the pins on the crank pulley unscrew, or how are they replaced.thanks Stan

Any reason NOT to get the parts from Mother Deere???

The drive pins screw into the front pulley, as well as into the pump drive.

Drive pins, # R34360, @ about $5.00 each.

Plastic bushings, # AR49427, less than $2.00 each.

Aluminum coupling HALF, # R38348, @ less than $18.00 each.

Not TOO bad, if you ask me!

I was hoping to maybe ordering them on line, but when you consider shipping ,Mother Deere will probably do. from what you say they are availbale sepertly, and do not need to be replaced together, as I only need one. Thanks Stan

buickanddeere, Maybe you can explain something to me. If I have two parts that are the same, one is bad, one has nothing wrong with it, why I can't reuse it. Stan

The used bush will worn to a different size than the new one. Proper clamping will be more difficult. If there are two identical components in identical service and one fails after many hours of use. You can be certain the remaining part will also fail soon. Save the time and bother of tearing it apart again in a few weeks or months of operation.
