I have a Cast adjustable front wheel that i think fits a JD A and G. Whe casting number on the back is W273C, and was wondering if this is for sure a wheel for a JD.

I have a set of those ajustable F&H front wheel on the front of a F20 Farmall. IH has them listed in their parts book.

The casting number for the wheel center is W273 and the F&H hubcap number is N846A. It looks just like a AO hub cap.

ET,
Thanks for the casting number info. I gather there is no letter after the W273 - sometimes they are cast in another segment of the wheel not adjacent to the 3. My notes show I saw a W273L on an F20 - perhaps F&H made two different castings, which would not be too unusual.

40 JD G,
Yes, your F&H W273C 3-way adjustable front wheels are for either an A or G. They are advertised in early Firestone tire advertising when Firestone was pushing the dual wheel concept hard (too hard for JD's liking).

The 3-way cast wheel was used on a number of tractors, and the "usual" way of telling them apart is by the last letter (C in your case).
