My father-in-law asked me to post this auction on ebay-see link below
I have been getting a lot of questions on the accuracy of the description. example "John Deere L,LA,LUC are 2 cyl flatheads. This appears to be a 4 cyl. overhead ???" Or "So you're saying an L John Deere had a 4 cylinder engine? OK?????"
I have confidence that my father-in-law knows what he's talking about, he told me what to put in the auction. Can someone give me a bit of advice? I am no tractor guy.

It sure looks like a siamezed Dubuque two clyinder. It the bell housing is even close, why have I not ever seen one installed in a tractor? Surely, there must be a Hot Rodder out there someplace?

This motor is a 92 series 4 cyl. power unit that was used on the model 25 & 30 pull-type combines and also on the later model 114/116w side discharge square balers.

It is definately a harvester engine, from a combine as the other posts have identified. I am in the process of restoring one because it look as though the engineers at Deere put two Dubuque tractor engines together. I have checked the measurements of the engine and it would bolt to a tractor bell housing and the front is the same except for one mounting bolt. Even the water outlet appears that two Dubuque engine pipes were put together. It is a very interesting engine

TA-92 and TB-92 power units wouldn't have the offset drive like yours has so it's got to be a HA-92 as said below for a combine. The "H" in number designates harvester for combine. I see it has a nice Wico XV or XVD (vertical X) magneto on it.

It's an HA-92 Power Unit, used on John Deere 25 and 30 Combines.

the #92 was a JD combine power unit but was not the same as an LUC.

I don't know for sure what it is but it is not a L,LA motor. they were all 2 cylinders. Maybe a later model JD power unit or some other one that was painted John Deeere colors. Can't really place the engine as to manufaturer.
