Hey guys:

This may not be the best place to post this but I have a good tire on one side of my 3020 and bad one on the other side. I want to know if the Firestone Field & Road 151"s are still produced or did they quit making them when they came out with the 23* Radials? I thought they were no longer produced but someone told me you could still buy them.

Thanks,

John

4010 puller, the traditional 151-style tires are no longer made, except in small sizes. The tires you have were originally "All Traction Field and Road" and were later changed to a "Traction Field and Road". A common misconception is that these are the exact same tire. They are not. The original type tire was made heavier and has a thicker carcass. The later tire is much lighter and is only a "replacement tire". The tire that is out now is an "Super All Traction" which is an extremely good tire and is known as a "long bar-long bar" tire. They have about half again as many bars on them as the 151-style tire. Also, in the smaller sizes, Firestone makes a "Super All Traction II" which is a replacement tire but is still a good tire, just lightened up somewhat. Firestone only recently changed to the SAT tires in the smaller sizes so if you look around you may still be able to find a set of new TFR tires. Hope this helps. Mike

Mike:

What are you calling "Smaller Tires" in the 151 Traction Field & Road? Is a 15.5-38 a smaller tire? That"s what I"m needing.

Thanks for the info,

John

Don't hold me to this, but I am pretty sure the largest size that the old TFR are available in is 12.4-38. I think in a 15.5 they are now available only in the SAT II. But check with some of your dealers as the old-style tire may still be available. If you look at the SAT tire I think you will like them. They stand taller and should give much better traction. I know they work extremely well on a pulling tractor. Mike
