Time to show my ignorance. What is the difference between a "styled" tractor and an "unstyled"

Styled JD tractors showed up around 1938. They had grills in front of the radiators, and "styled" shaped hoods, along with other aesthetic refinements. IH began styling theirs in '39. Oliver preceded both in '37 with their 70.
