Just a wild guess, but had it happen on an MC recently. Check and see if the pin that holds the drive gear is not sheared. Pull the dist and turn the engine over while looking at the gear with a flashlight. We did that and discovered the pin was sheared. Put in a different pump, and had pressure almost immediately.

Could the pump be sucking air? Pickup tube cracked maybe?

Joe

Surely it won't be this simple but I have seen standard bearing inserts put in after turning a crank.

Not getting oil to the to could be a whole new issue with the installation of the rear cam bearing.. Is the slot in the bearing toward the bottom?

I know the slot in the rear cam bearing is down.I was concerened about it sliding away from the oil hole in the the block when i drove in the welch plug.So i was real carefull.Still don't understand the oil canister not having pressure, the oil pump feeds directly into it.If i had a restriction somewhere in the engine wouldn't this cause more oil to go to the canister?
