I'm working on a 1930 or 31 GP standard #214461 and the bottom transmission shaft or reverse shaft has a lot of end play . How do I adjust it . Thanks for any help.

If I remember right the shaft is held in by a set screw that comes up from the bottom, and the end play and gear alignment is done with washers added between the gears and spacers.

I found the set bolt you are talking about and it was not tight to the shaft .Dose the shaft have a flat place that the set bolt is to tighten up to ,to keep the shaft from spinning in the case? Thanks a lot for the help ET .

It might have a drill hole in it for the set screw to seat in, But it's been a while since I did mine.
