Thanks to all that replied to my post about my gauge problem. I finely called the Deere shop in Anchorage and talked to someone working for Deere that KNEW what they were doing and was told that the gauge was in deed the WRONG one. The one I had was for a tractor with negative ground and my 4010 is positive ground. Took that gauge back to deere and ordered the correct one.
Thanks for your help. And NO THANKS to Deere for all the aggravation and trouble. Never mind the added cost. I think a stick would have been better.

Jim

Jim,

There are two 12-Volt circuits switched through the key switch, labled "A" and "B". One is (-) 12-Volts with respect to the chassis, and the other is (+) 12-Volts with respect to the chassis.

Simply powering the gauge from the opposite source would have made it work!

What a deal, though, for Deere to list that gauge as a viable substitute. As I posted before, the partsman a my favorite dealer said it came up as a usable cross, as well as the dealer you first dealt with.

I am seeing that more and more, though, the folks in charge of the parts have NO idea, anymore, what they are working with!
