I was looking at the 5020 sight on ebay, and saw engine shields R & L sides for over 600.00 with 23 bidders. What makes these thing's so expensive. I think I am going to see the person I bought my 5020 from and look for the shields. stan

No reproductions.. yet, is why. Prices are out of control on those and getting ridiculous all right. I should have kept my 6030 panels and held out for $5K as some nut might eventually pay it? :) Sold mine too cheap and going to gouge em on next ones. Actually there are different panels that would have to be made with each being a bit different on bends and the area next to dash or cowling on open station tractors and for tractors with cabs. So for such a low demand several would really have to be made so check the parts catalog carefully to be sure you get right panels or they won't fit right. So might want to be cautious being sure seller would let you return them before buying if they can't guarantee which tractor panels fit.

THANKS!

A week or two ago, I was visting with my friend, and I was telling him how valuable these have gotten. Seeing this auction should about "put him over the edge"!

He rented a farm for many years, and lost it a few years back. He was telling me there was a set for a 4020, and a 6030 set, from tractors his dad bought new, he left upstairs in an old barn. Even though he is a green NUT, he didn't realize how valuable they were. The first thing the new tenant did was to burn down the old barn, and hire a guy with a CAT to dig a hole, push what was left in, and bury it!

It's no wonder folks want them now, as they were the first thing a lot of farmers took off of those tractors, in their heyday. I can remember seeing them, now and then, over the years, tossed in farmer's scrap piles!

Thats cheap compared to 6030 side shields which go for over $1,000..Half the 6030's around are missing the side shields but no one will reproduce them.
