Ok Mike M jarred me what you have lol. You probably have the wrong coil for the Wico XB which is a 6V battery distributor ignition and not a XH magneto which it sounds like you have a coil for instead of the XB. Correct coil for XB is 5-5093 or old number X6872 or X6872B and the new coil will still have a black wire, red wire and uninsulated ground wire. Dist cap, gasket, dist rotor, & points are same for the XB dist as for a XH mag. Coils are NOT the same. The new replacement XB condenser using a coiled ground spring under is same as for a XHD mag but a XH mag condenser won't be right capacitance for the XB dist.
