This HP chart can be seen by going to this site, but it must be reached by www.antiquetractors.com It will be on the lefthand side under the research and info heading. The active link is called JD HP chart.

I know my 46 A isn't typical of what the specs for these tractors are but I get 39 HP on the dyno. It is still standard bore, and the correct carb but has the electronic ignition from Dennys carb shop. I didn't figure it was to bad compared to my 60 that would put out 43 horse.

39 HP probably because the compression ratio has been increased from 4._ to 6._ with a higher compression head and most likely the addition of a gas manifold.

No, the block and head, including manifold are all factory standard, actually from a 44 parts tractor. The only thing I can't be sure of is the pistons, while I was away at MSU dad cracked one of the old pistons right in half. He found a set of standard bore pistons some where and put it back together again. I do know that the pistons in it have a different head than the ones from the 44, but both piston styles are cast.

39 HP @ 540 PTO or 39 HP lugging the crap out of it, down around 350-400PTO speed?
