I put new sealing rings on my injectors for my 4 219 JD motor. Are they usually very hard to push back in? I tried one and it almost needeed to be pounded back. Stan

You are refering to the Teflon seal on the lower end? Did you soak them in hot water first before you tried to install them? You did have the groove they set in good and clean? To speed up the process I have also taken a small hose clamp and placed it over the seal to aid in shrinking them down to the proper size. Did you get one of those little tapered tools to help you install them. They are meant to be installed dry. Did you take the little reamer and brush to remove the carbon before installing the new seals? I have a 219 head out in the corn crib. If it warms up another day or so and I can get the doors thawed out I can go look but I would imagine there is a small chamfer to aid in starting the injector in the bore.Once past that a little firm hand pressure will install them. That is I can think of, I have not done any in 30 years except when I needed to change one on the boy's 4020 about 5 years ago. J.

I did soak them in hot water before I installed them on the shaft, and I did clean the hole they go into. I will try the hose clamp to get them a little tighter in the groove. Thanks stan
