And for those of you like me who thought that a hay cube was some kind of bale, check out this link. I don't think this is used much in the northeast

.

Also, check around Roswell and Artesia NM. There used to be quite of few of them due to all of the dairies in that area. Most got parked when the big sqare balers came out.

Try contacting the John Deere dealership in Holly, Colorado at (719) 537-6551. Holly is on highway 50 a just few miles west of the KS-CO state line. Up until a few years ago they had a couple of cubers setting on their lot but I haven't seen them lately. I'm sure they could tell you where they are, though.

There was article several years ago in Green Magazine about them and use to be several in our area by Muleshoe TX and Clovis NM and some in Colorado and even Kansas too. Haven't seen any around or being used in long time now. Probably some junkers parked someplace?

John, Sent you email. One cuber I checked on this morning is gone now to unknown parts? Found the article on JD Hay Cubers by J.R. Hobbs in Green Magazine, May 2002 issue, page 18. Also a two follow ups on the story in September 2002 issue, page 6 of GM. Might find a old issue for sale on ebay or other ads in back of GM.
