I have a 1963 2010 gas it acts like it is running out of fuel .I have checked the fuel filter the air filter checked if the tank is breathing all check out ok . Tractor seems to run ok with the choke out sometimes then sometimes it don't . It also sometimes tries to run on less than it's four cylinders. Help thanks John J. Otto

It could be varnish and dirt in the fuel line, the float needle seat, the carburetor inlet screen (attached to the inverte flare adapter), the filter, or the tank outlet screen. Any of these can restrict flow. I saw a 2020 in my back yard one year about 4 or 5 years ago that wouldn't run for more than a couple minutes because that carburetor inlet screen was packed solid. So solid I couldn't detect air flow when I applied 60 psi air from my air tank.

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the caruretor. If you remove that plug, it should run a stream nearly the size of a pencil for ten minutes or until the gas tank is empty. If it drops a cup and then slows to a drip you have a fuel line restriction that can be any combination of those above plus the fuel filter. With a gravity fuel line, the fuel filters made for cars with fuel pumps don't often flow fuel well enough either.

The other cause of your running lean can be a broken or rotted intake manifold gasket, either right at the carburetor or at the engine.

And once you are sure its not one of these you can think about clogged passages in the carburetor.

And if there is a shut off solenoid on the high speed jet, that solenoid or its wiring can be keeping the main jet closed so it hardly runs.
