did any of you'll see the gmc future bus thing that sold at a barret jackson auction for 4.1 million this week. i didn't get in on what exactly it was but just the tail end of the bidding. now that to me is ridiculous. of course the difference in men and boys is the size of their toys and i guess if money is no object you can blow it any way you want. i can see a serious collector paying what ever he can afford for a piece that is worth any price he can give for it, but for a guy who isn't really interested in the piece of history and is out just to show off how much money he has and no brains i hope he gets taken for a good ride.

How about putting the shoe on the other foot? If the tractor had to be sold to settle as estate. I suspect you would take the highest offer?

I think the owners are extremely greedy, to be asking that kind of price for a 330 that normaly would being about 20,000. I hope it does not sell, there are to many people who have way to much money if it does.

That's their perogative, and I'm glad we live in a free-market society that permits people to ask what they want for something and permits people to pay what they want for something. If they GET what they think it's worth, they'll be happy and nobody will have forced anyone to pay a dime for it. If people have the money to spend, let them spend it however they please. It's when people DON'T spend money that there will be no money to spend.

The owners are not anymore greedy than anyone else selling on Ebay. Maybe we should change the rules on Ebay, so all things are free. That would probably make you happy. Actually I think everything should be free, so we can all shut down the greedy people that make cars, build homes, sell food, especially those pesky farmers that are making so much money off all of us that eat. Get real!!!!! !!!

The sad fact is there is that kind of money out there for this type of thing, take a look at the classic car market, prices like this are not uncommon there. That 330 is in a catagory by itself because it is the first one. It is out of reach for the average Blue- Coller guy and will end up in the hands of a multi-millionaire collector who will have it custom restored for another $25000. We live in a society that revolves around posessions & wealth and we want what we want. There is just a completely differant field of players involved here...all the rest of us can just sit back and watch,(laugh?)

At almost 118 grand it must be made of something more than just cast. There are many other better investments to purchase besides that. It is not worth it, and tend to believe they are just establishing a value for settling the estate. Was always told in the sales business that there is a buyer for anything, but in this case there may not be. It all smells fishy. Who is going to insure that tractor at that cost anyway? Nobrainer and not jealous. Just my cents worth.

Why should "insurance" be a worry? Likely; someone paying $125k for it can afford to be "self-insured".
