I"m putting my 720D back together. I have the block and pistons installed, but wondered if I need to put the frame rails on before I can mount the head and valve train. I remember getting the head off with the frame in place was tricky. I"d like to paint from the tappet cover back to the drawbar before putting the front frame on, if possible. Thanks.

I think I'd be getting that frame on before adding more weight as that frame has block bolts in it too. I just always painted the block and head, and frame for that matter with a couple of coats with a brush while out. Then sprayed after everything was sealed up ,but before bolting on alot of stuff. It takes alot less paint this way too, but everything is covered.
