So I was surfing ebay and seen this set of brackets on a jd 50 hitch. I have a set on mine too and was wondering what they were for.

Anyone know?

You have a pair of mower brackets for a JD #5 mower.

The JD #8 should also work with these brackets.

They are used with a "Quik-Tatch" hitch that is bolted to the mower.

The link below will show a diagram of the "Quik-Tatch" hitch.

The above photo shows the "real deal".

If your talking about the two brackets, with the round end. They are for mounting a hay mower, they would clamp together around the round fixture. We had one when I was a kid, in Cheeseland. zquinn

The brackets were probably for a #5 mower.
