What is the easiest way to tell if a JD A has the low speed 1st gear without driving it? It is a 1951 JD A straight 6speed. Is there a # cast into the transmission housing?

On my 52A the 1st gear is at the top right across from Reverse.

It is marked with a " 1 ".

The creeper first gear started with serial number 648000. As Drew said, if it is the single stick transmission it will have the low speed first gear.

If it is a straight 6, single stick transmission, then its a creeper gear tractor.
