The question is rain water getting into the oil bath cup if the air stack is not covered. Don't happen with the others with an air stack. So what is going on? Problem is not new to this beast.

That's been a big problem since they were new !Good source of stuck engines and broken carb. bottoms.

Easy fix is to cover both stacks with a bucket.

clw is right about there being drain holes in the intake stake, at least there is on my b. it was packed full of rust and crud. i just accidently found it when i was restoring my tractor and was sandblasting it and the hole showed up. you might be able to find it without removing the hood and the pipe by taking a sharp tool and pushing around on the very bottom of the cup on the bottom of the stack. it would be nice if you kept it parked in a shed, but i know from pictures i see every where that not everybody has all the storage they need.

I am not sure about the A, but my 630 has four small holes at the base of the airstack to let any water out of the stack. If the A has them they may be pluged up. I am going to guess they are just below the hood if it has them.
