Hello all, Sorry this is not about a JD farm tractor but....
This is a 1970 140. Won't start. Got spark, gas getting into the carb but seems the spark plug stays dry. When I took off the carb to give that a once over I turned the motor over and the valve was functioning. Got good suction at the carb. Usually I can figure these old units out but this one has me puzzled. Can anyone help me or direct me to a forum for garden tractors? I get a great deal of help here regarding my 1955 fergie and my 2N before I sold it. Thanks in advance. Sincerely, John Mason

Put a little gas down the spark plug hole and see if it will start.

If you have gas in the float bowl, and the mainjet isn't clogged, and you have spark, it SHOULD start!

Have you tried a different spark plug?

Only other thing would be valve settings, and if tthe valves are seating properly.
