Have a 5020 late model with built in roll gard in the cab. Would like to get rid of the cab and keep the roll bar and use flat top rowcrop style fenders. Looks to me as though to do this will require notching the fendes so they will clear the posts of the roll gard. Do not want to space the fenders wider apart. Any tricks to doing this? Also can a person utilize the roll bar but mount a canopy on top? Are these canopies avaliable thru Deere or are they avaliable aftermarket?

Don't know the answer to the fender issue, but I do know that the guy that bought my 5020 wanted to do the same thing you do. He stripped the cab off so all that was left was the fenders, ROPS and canopy. The roof of the cab is the exact same thing as the canopy that you see on ROPS equiped tractors. He decided to stay with the fenders because it would be hard to find or make ones that the ROPS would fit into as the originals did. He had to do some cutting to remove all the cab corner posts and sheet metal but it looked pretty decent with the ROPS and canopy and axle duals, all painted up.

I'm not sure about a roll guard on a 5020 but I did this on our 4320 and learned that the smaller flat top fenders (like from a 4020) bolt right to the roll guard as it should have tapped holes that match the fender holes if it is the same as the ones on 4320s. If you use the larger row crop fenders then only two of the four holes will bolt up. I think you could make an adaptor plate to make it work but you'll have to drill extra holes in the fenders. Not sure about what cab you have but besides getting flat top fenders I had to get a platform, steps and rockshaft covers. They all add up to a pricey converson. Good luck
