Tips for DLTX plug removal

Hey guys. Been making progress on the 39 B (DLTX 10) since the last time I posted (thanks for the help PBrowning). I have been tinkering in my spare time and I believe I have an idle passageway plugged. It runs, but the RPMs surge up and down a bit, however much less since I put in the new throtle shaft and bushing. Carb test: does not matter if the idle screw is 5 turns out or down tight, does not change how tractor runs. I have a bit coming from Roberts Carb. My question is what is the best way to remove the brass plugs. I removed a few and blew some air through them before, but the ones i need off now I was unable to move. Any tips to try or to avoid would be appreciated.
Also, it seems to be running at a high RPM when just idleing, even with the throttle nearly closed. Could this be due to plugged passageway so it is pulling excess from load? I havent tried the governor to throttle adjustment, that sounds like an easy fix if thats it. Thanks for the help.

Heat the brass plugs with a small propane torch til they get good and hot. Let them cool and unless the slot is all beat up they should turn right out. I haven't had one yet that wouldn't come out this way. If the slot is stripped I have used a small vise grips around the shoulder and have gotten them out.

To remove those pesky brass drill plugs I use a small torch to apply heat with a small blue tip flame BUT STOP as soon as it starts to throw off that funny lookin blue/green color. Then I let them cool and a good sharp right sized screwdriver takes them out sooooo easy. (I buy new plugs from Robert also) Robert sells No 40 and No 53 bits and you obviously gotta use the correct size for the holes, air alone DOES NOT clear them properly, you need to use the bits then air then gumout then bits again then air n gumout again n finally air is how I do it.

From what you describe Id remove all the brass plugs n clean alllll the passages which is why you need at least the 40 and 53 bits cuz of the different sizes. I also clean out the hole where the load needle tip fits down in cuz it has to draw fuel up from there.

Id also remove n clean the main center brass vertical nozzle and all its lil side holes and dont forget the lil bottom center bowl spring is supposed to hold it back up in the bore.

When mine (DLTX 10 all fuel on a B) still had a slight bit of up n down hunt n surge Duane advised me to remove n clean my side economizer plug also which helped.
