Can anyone tell me where i can get fuel injection pump parts for a JD300 backhoe?

Ihave tried my local John Deere dealers, fuel injection shops and even some wreckers.

The part i need is the gear in the fuel rack where the accelerator cable connects.

I am told it is a roosa master pump model number AT2304B

I assume there is other models that use the same parts to source them from

Mark

It's not an AT2304B - it's an AT23048 - which is a CDC style pump that was discontinued early 80s.

You've got a C model pump and many other Deeres use it. The rack and pinion gear-set fits them all. The Deere part # for the gear kit used to be AT31165 or Roosamaster # 18143. Your pump is one of the following Roosamasters - CBC331-AL, CBC331-6AL, CBC331-16AL, CDC331-3DG, CDC331-4DG, CDC331-6DG.

Many parts for that style pump became obsolete in the early 1980s. Deere sold change-over kits to put the DB or JDB style pump in place of the C pump. I installed many - kit had cost around $900 and came with a brand new JDB injection pump, new injector lines, timing gear, etc. The rack and pinion gears, however, were available for a long time after. I used to carry a bag full of them with me in my toolbox. They were a very common wear item.

Other Deeres that used those little round C pumps are - 350 crawler, 400 wheel tractor, 440 log skidder, 450 crawler, 500 wheel tractor, 540 skidder, 544 wheel loader, AG 820 and 920 wheel tractors, 1020 wheel tractor, 1520 wheel tractor, 2020 wheel tractor, 2510 wheel tractor, 2520 wheel tractor, 3020 wheel tractor, 4020 wheel tractor, etc.

Are you sure the part number is AT31165?

Part number diagrams i found on the JD website seem to indicate AT30118 for the throttle kit or
R45054 for the gear and T31122 for the rack

Can anyone confirm which part numbers i am after?

Mark

I forgot to mention that sometimes - just the pinion gear goes bad and the rack is still useable. Often, you can just turn the pinion upside down and reuse it by catching unworn teeth - if it wasn't done previously.
