Were all of the live hydraulic pumps made to go between the mag & governor the same? If not, how can you tell the difference? Will they fit an Unstyled A? I would really thing that it would be nice to have one.

Thanks

There's a lot more to putting live hydraulics on the letter series JDs than just adding a pump. There's a JD Service Bulleten from 1952 that shows all the parts needed and how to do it. If you want a copy of it let me know. There's also a page in the late A,B,& G parts catalogs that shows all the parts in the "Live Hydraulic Pump Kit". I have the the 2 spacer rings that are needed with a "long lug" mag.

If you could e-mail that bulletin that would be great. I am also interested in the ring.

I imagine that other parts are reservoir, hoses, valve etc?

e-mail is open

Thank you

Yes, they will fit. For an unstyled tractor, or any using a "long lug" mag, you will need the spacer ring that goes with the unit installed on the magneto side, or you will have to convert your mag to a "short lug" impulse coupling. They won't make a lot of pressure(mine is about 850psi), but live hydraulics is nice. The little lever disengages the pump when not in use.
