New Gen platform mat fit issues

I recently bought a rubber mat for the operator's platform on my late 3020 (part # R44960). I was disappointed to find that it doesn't fit very well at all. For example, the hole for the dimmer switch is approx. 5/8" off in one direction alone! Needless to say, it will need some cutting to get it to lay down at all.
Has anyone else bought one of these mats lately for a New Generation tractor? Have you had similar fit issues? I would think that for $115 they'd be a little closer than this. I hate to start cutting on such an expensive piece of rubber. Any feedback is appreciated.

I purchased a custom fit mat for my 4020 this summer from Fehr Cab. It didn't fit right either, had to cut and trim. The biggest problem was around the oil filler area. Paid $62 for it and must have cut about 1 1/2 inches off the back and had to cut down the right side by the foot throttle.

Yes, trying to keep an original tractor all OEM. Sorry... I'm just fussy that way. The dealer doesn't seem very inclined to help. I would think it would at least be worth trying a different mat to see if it fits any better... don't you? I've been told by others that Deere switched suppliers on these mats a few years back and they haven't fit right since. Anyone else have a story? Thanks.

I bought one 15 years ago when they were less than half of what you paid for that one and it fit better than what you're describing. If you want it for function more than looks, here's what I did. When I was at a salvage yard getting some combine parts, I pulled a few cab mats out of a 6600 or 7700 combine and put them in the pile with my other parts. The counter guy said $10 each since I was getting some other parts also. I took that factory mat described above and used it as a pattern to cut the combine mat to fit. It's a bit short in one direction but it works. I like the mat because if you sit out on one of these tractors for many hours, you do notice how much vibration the mat absorbs rather than your feet absorbing it. Since I have 4 NG tractors I really don't feel like spending $115 for a platform mat for each one.

I bought one for my 4320 about a year ago. It fits perfectly. You should take yours back and get one that fits right.

I would return it to the company and tell them you want a new one because this one is made wrong.
