Where can I find the special expansion plug that keeps oil from seeping around the belt pulley brake operating pin? This is on a 720 Diesel with the F2500 1st reduction gear cover. Deere says it"s obsolete. If it"s not available, what to do?

This expansion plug has to have a hole in the middle for the operating pin to go through.

Carefully try to remove it and reuse it ? Or like Frank said maybe drill a hole in a new one ?

Maybe you can take a standard size for the OD, then drill a hole in the center to roll your own. The last part before the pass through plug is an o-ring, so if it's leaking, that's the problem. I doubt that the expansion plug will hold back more oil than the o-ring behind it.

I have not had a chance to look, but certainly McMaster Carr would carry those. A NAPA of any age probably has an assortment of those button top caps.
