Will I have any problem using a rear mounted 8' snowblower on a 4430? Oil flow in trans when in reverse? Thanks

I'm from Sask in Canada, where we get SNOW, and it's everyone for themselves. I don't know of too many people that don't have a blower on the back of the tractor. Pretty well everybody uses a 2wd (4020's up to 4955 size) as a second tractor. Farmers run 4wd's as their main unit.
Ranchers use 2wd or fwa, but EVERYBODY has a loader on the front and a blower on the back.

We had a 10 ft, 4 auger for years.

We used a 4230, then a 4630 for blowing snow just about every day, 4 mths a year for 35 years with no trouble ever. Yard, corrals, and 4 miles of road.

I was told by a JD mech. That the reverse is only suppose to be used to back equipement and itself into the shed not for pushing a snow blower.

The transmission pump is driven by a shaft from the back of the engine crankshaft, direction of travel will have no effect on it. There is a slight possibility you could get the clutch and oil hot if you slip the clutch repeatedly, trying to slow travel speed so not to overfeed the blower
