The transmission pressure light comes on when the rpm reaches or exceeds about 1650-1700. I power back and the warning goes off. I'm hoping its a partially clogged screen, but what else should I look for?

These tractors also have a history of the pressure or rpm sensor failing. If your pressures are to specs one of the sensors has failed.

fist be sure fluid level is correct. are any of the shifts rough. does it have all gears. put a gauge on the lube port at the return oil manifold which is on the left side of trans on top. it should be be more than 10 psi at 1000 rpm. then check system pressure at the clutch valve housing. the port will say sys press. should be at least 185 psi. if these arent to spec then drain oil change filters. inspect filters for metal. pull the sump screen and inspect it also. if u find dull sand size metal then its somthing cast that is breaking up. if u find bigger flakes of shiny metal and brass shavings then its likely the brakes are gone. and it could be somthin as simple as a blown gasket in a housing. many things can cause low pressure
