On our MT, the lift arms are always up when the tractor is running unless there is a load on them.

John, how do you attach the implements. It would seem that you would need to turn it off the engine so the arms would go down and stay there while you are hooking up something. Am I right about this?

We would make sure the levers were down. Usually, we would shut the tractor off as it took a bit of time to attach the implements. Sometimes we would just pull down on the arms and hold them while we hooked up the implements. It didn't take a lot to pull the arms down. The only two implements we used were a #5 mower and two-row cultivator.
