Hollingsworth compression insert question

My 36 B had a set of compression inserts in the motor when I got my tractor but the engine was disassembled should I put them back in? The tractor has a cold manifold and the mag coupling is 25 degrees. My family who the tractor belonged to said it was always real easy to start and ran good. Will the inserts make it run hot? Will it be hard to start since I don't have compression releif petcocks? Does anyone have any installation instructions for compression inserts in a model B. What keeps them from turning in the cylinder? Mine were tight until I cleaned all the carbon off of them now they will drop in but don't fit tight.

Jeremy B,
I think there were two different styles of the inserts. One style used pins to hold them in place, and the other style of insert had a notch in the vicinity of the spark plug hole. The latter design used a "Jet Fyr" spark plug insert, which was an insert with a long neck that fit into the notch in the insert. It screws into the 18mm spark plug hole, and holds the insert from turning. One then had to use 14mm spark plugs in the inserts.

Which kind of insert do you have - I think I may have some installation instructions.
