Im looking for ideas to free up the links. Ive used some heat, a pipe wrench and a lot of kroil but no luck. What have you guys used that you have had good luck with? Do you do it on the tractor, in a vise, try it hot, or let it cool???
I'm open to any and all tips. Thanks

You don't need to bother with the draft arm extensions. Just install a quick hitch and it will be a lot easier to hook up without having to fight the extensions. I would not be without a quick for the 3PT. Armand

I've had the best luck with putting the whole part in the wood stove in my shop. I put a piece of an old tube in to get the fire really hot. Keep it stoked with oil and wood until the whole part is cherry red. Usually at this point you can handle it with a pair a pliers to put it in the vise. Usually you dont need a pipe wrench to turn the threads at this point. Somtimes a light tapping repitition on the cast iron(while arm is in the upright postion) with a hammer will help to get that old dirt and grease to come out to give your threads some space to move.

This is not fail proof. If your threads are bad heat will not fix your problem.

I do the same for draft links, but remove the pins and springs before you toss them in the stove. The heat will ruin the springs if you leave them in the arms. After I get them cherry red I tie one end to a large cedar post with a come-a-long to the other end to any stationary object. Tighten the come-a-long good and tight then give the arm a light whack with a sledge (not hard enough to make a scar)This works just like a puller. This is farily fail safe. Even if the arm is bent the heat will allow it to straighten enough to separate. This has never failed me on draft links.

All of the above and then some.

For the stuck lower arms I have beat up and down the sides of the tubes soaked them and heated them and while still warm took the 440 crawler and chained one end to a stump and the other to the crawler and got them moving.

I never could get the locks out of the 4020 arms so I gave up on them figured I'd not use them anyhow.
