Need help in locating individual brakes for a Styled John Deere-D. Where can a guy find a Used set of 7 inch aluminum high compression pistons for the John Deere-D. And yes, I have already posted on the classifieds.

Individual brakes? You mean the big suckers in the wheels right? What do you need exactly? Parts are extremely hard to find, but they are out there if you look long enough.

If the tractor doesn't have ANYTHING now, I suggest buying a tractor with the brakes. Much faster and probably cheaper in the long run.

For example, it took me a good 6 months to find a pair of used shoes, a brake brace, pedal, cam and some other small goodies for our DI project. And I had kept an eye out for parts for a few YEARS before that. It's alot easier to buy a whole tractor if you need alot of parts. At least I had one complete side, and the wheels and backing plates.

And I still need to reline my shoes!

probably no such thing as good used 7" pistons that are for sale .there should be some new ones out there or you might find some .045 .090 or .125 over steel pistons that are used and if you are lucky you might find some original gas pistons in .045 over. But if you need 7" pistons I will bet a lot you wont find used ones.Paul
