Original post stated no forward gears or reverse or PTO just stopped moving.

What I "left" off is the belt pully turns when engine is running. No change on the original message.

Two replys-one that the spline on the clutch drive hub failed. Good place to start, but pully wheel working so no sure?

Other one was the nut came off the input gear and gear dropped and in the bottom of case.

I crused the JD trt part list manual and will list part number of this gear called input let me know which it is?

Transmission page:
A 2426 R Called fifth and sixth speed gear. Would this one be the gear??

Have two shafts on the trans page neither called input shaft. My guess it is the Sliding gear shaft and nut could be the nut that came off?

My x-ray eyes are too weak to see the dropped gear.

if the nut comes off the gear CANNOT fall anywhere there is a outer bearing between nut & gear that rides in 1st cover....unless shaft breaks into ..buy a parts book best way to see how it works....Kent

I would remove the clutch fork and look in to see if the first reduction gear is turning. If so you will have to dig deeper. Ron MN.

Did you pull the pulley off and look? From there, then take the cover off and look to see whats going on. If the problem is not there and is inside the gear case, that cover will have to come off anyway.
I had some gear problems, and my X-Ray vision didnt work either. I had no choice but to pick up some wrenches and go in. Aside from the cost of new gears it was a nice fun project, as long as you have a manual along side, and mark all the parts as they come out.
