I have a 60 and an A that have been lying on their bellies behind the barn for about 20 years. I’ve been working all day trying to get ready to restore them, I think I have found most of the wheels but I need some help.

First where is a good place to get wheel bolts? I need 24 ½” fine and 18 9/16 fine wheel bolts.

Second how do I figure out what the front rims look like that should go on the tractors?

It also looks like I need 1 front hub for the 60 rollomatic.

Another issue is the two back rims I found for the 60 are different, one is about 11” wide and the other is 13” wide. I wonder how that will look with new tires.

The two back wheels for the A got swapped out with an MT years ago so I’m stuck putting the MT wheels on it.

This is going to be lots of work.

Here is an idea of what I got to do;

Yea that would be cheaper and easier but this aint about getting a running 60, its about preserving my families past and honoring my heritage and seeing the smile on my grandpas face when he sees it and being able to tell my grand children that my great grand father, grand father, dad, and me used THIS tractor to farm from 1958 to 1988 instead of telling them he used one LIKE this.

You would be better off to find a 60 that is running, At least you would know what you have with all working parts and rubber.
My 2Cents, Good Luck Ben
Keep the 60 for a parts tractor.

I got another question, since these tractors have been sitting for near 20 years and have been outside most of that time. The carburetor and the spark plugs were removed form the A sometime about 15 years ago so it has been exposed to weather. Both had a bucket over the exhaust and intake but the plastic buckets cracked over the years.

Would it be a good idea when I get the wheels back on to try and pull them in gear to break the engine loose?
And if so would there be any good tricks (like oil in the spark plug holes) I could do to minimize damage?

Any other advice on how to get the engines turning again?

Pulling a tractor in gear to break the engine loose is a good way to tear stuff up. DONT DO IT!

It seems everyone has their own opinion on what works to put in the bores to loosen an engine up. Are you going to rebuild the engines anyway? If so, I would just go ahead and pull the block out w/ the pistons stuck inside. Then you can set it upright and soak w/ PB Blaster, etc, etc. And then if it comes to it, a 4x4 block of wood and a BFH should persuade the pistons to move.

Advice taken, I will not try to pull them off.

As for rebuilding, of course I don’t want to, but I imagine I’ll have to considering the condition they are in.

I got to decide whether to just start taking them apart for a complete rebuild or to try and break them loose and see if they will build compression and run as is.

Looks like you have a challenge ahead of you. Are there two gas caps on the 60? That may be an all-fuel model. The grill has a knock out for checking power steering, but has the large 4 spoke steering wheel often found to replace the smaller 3 spoke wheel so the operater could steer it with a little less effort. Couple of interesting pieces. Could you get a closer picture of the manifold on the 60?

Both our As and the 60 are all fuel with two tanks, my great grandfather wanted them that way because he ran the cheap tractor fuel in them.

As far as I can remember none of them are powersteering and only the 60 is rollomatic.

The broken A has no serial number plate above the belt pulley but it has hydraulics so I guess it is newer. All I know about the 60 is it used to have live PTO and the gear shifter is different.

I have lots of pics of all of the tractors, Friday I'll try to upload the rest of them them to my photo website and maybe you can take a look and see if there is anything interesting about them. Link
Thanks
