What would cause the 3pt to be really jumpy when trying to slowly raise on a 620. When lowering it is very smooth. Does not seem right.

Did you check your hydraulic fluid level? When checking the level, did you check while the lift is up or all the way down?

Some things that come to mind to check are, does the hitch stay up when shut off ? if the piston o-ring is leaking off this may cause some problems. There may also be some adjustments that can be done. JD has a very nice service manual on those custom power-trol units and it likely has a trouble shooting section.

Yup I have a manual at the house but it seems like the board always gives a good direction to start.

It just seems that no matter how slow I try to raise it it jumps 2 or 3 inches each time it comes up.
