Is this the right plow for my 60?

I've located a 555 JD trip plow for sale. It is a 3-14" and has been sand blasted and panted but he wants 700 bucks for it. Seems like alot to me.

Should I hold out for a hydraulic lift plow? If so what other numbers are there. How 'bout a mounted plow? Thought I'd better find one before they are all sold to scrap!

Bunghammer, by "trip" do you mean trip bottoms or clutch lift? All of the 555 plows had trip bottoms but very, very few have clutch lift. If it is a clutch lift plow he probably is not far off on his price. Plus, if the bottoms are in good shape you will spend more than this getting a poor condition plow into shape. At first glance it sounds high, but do your homework. Mike

Old very rusty 3-14" plows here are going for $350 now, and if the one you have found has no rust on the moldboards, etc and is not all worn out, maybe it could be as cheap as the other, once you have it repaired to that condition..?

If you plan to get a Mounted 3-14", you MUST have a depth wheel (gage wheel) to control plow depth.. If your 60 is an "All-Fuel", it will only pull this size plow in creeper gear..(been there, done that).!! You are free to choose either Pull-Type, or Mounted..either would be fine on a 60....
