JD 2010 Remote Hydraulic Issues

I am having an issue with my 2010, in the fact that it will not pick up a load with the hydraulic remote. The only thing we have around the farm right now to test it on is a 12' disc. When I try to raise it, as soon as the wheels hit the ground, it stops. I don't understand why it doesn't have the power to lift this. The main application I am wanting to use the hydraulic remote is lifting hay bales with our hydraulic forks, but I am scared now that it will not have the power to raise the bale (will be able to test this by Monday, weather permitting, when I have some hay baled).

Here is a brief history on what has been done on the tractor since I bought it in Feb. I split the tranny to replace some synchonizers and replaced every seal and gasket from the hydraulic pump back. The hydraulic filter was cleaned and new fluid added when I reassembled the tractor. The power steering works great. When I bought the tractor it didn't have the breakaway couplers on it. It had the rcv but it was plugged off. When I found a coupler box I rebuilt it and and the rcv and rebuilt the hydraulic pump when I split the tractor. I have 1200 psi at the box which is what my service manual say is correct.
Also the hydraulics on the disc work fine on our other tractors so I know that is not the issue. I also went ahead and installed the hydraulic forks and it will lift it unloaded fine.
Am I missing something obvious? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

No, 1200 on each side when I move the gauge from coupler port to the other coupler port. My gauge is on a quick connector, not a tee.

1200psi on both hoses while trying to lift?

When I checked the pressure and got 1200 psi it was at the coupler on both sides.
No the relief valve does not squeal. The hydraulics work fine on lifting an unloaded hay fork and opening and closing a v-rake. I really think they called it with the cylinders being designed for newer high pressure systems. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.

As far as buying the filter. The filter in a 2010 is a permanent element that is made to be cleaned. That being said the replacements are $120.

Thanks

Scott

I've never had to check the pressure on my hydraulics but my 2010 will jerk a KBA disk up in the air without even a grunt using the remotes. You mentioned that you cleaned the hydraulic filter instead of replacing it. Spend the money on a new filter and see if that doesn't fix her up.

Does the relief valve, in the remote control valve, squeal when it is trying to lift the disk? I think you would be OK to shim the pressure up to 1500 psi, that is about what the rockshaft relief valve is set at.

I wonder if there was a problem with the valve, being why the valve was plugged off.

I am not changing the cylinder on the disk because this tractor would never have a chance of using it anyways, I was just wanting to test the newly installed hydraulics on my tractor.

It sounds like yall are all saying that I will need to compensate any implement I use for the fact that the hydraulic pressure is so low on this tractor. Thanks, that is an answer I can deal with. I was just wondering if I was missing something when I put the system on and it wasn't functioning correctly.

Thanks

Scott

Have you checked the pressure AT the remote coupling, to be SURE the full preesure is available there?

Also, are the are all four components of the 2 quick couplings matched up, and in good shape, so there's no restriction in either the pressure or return side?

You can "tee" a pressure gauge into the return line from the implement to be SURE there's no pressure buildup there.

If the disk has a 2" dia hydraulic ram and will lift with a 2400psi tractor connected to it. The 2010's 1200psi system will require a 3" ram to lift the same disk.
Have you installed the ram backwards by chance and reduced it's lift capacity?

Wasn"t exactly what I intended to say. That"s not a machine where you have the option to either push or pull with the ram.

So basically what you are saying is the hydraulic system on this tractor will never pick anything up.

1.) 1200 PSI isn't much as far as tractor hydraulic systems are concerned.

2.) If you want it to lift the disk, put a larger-diameter cylinder on it. It will lift SLOWER, though.
