An old friend of mine has asked me to sell his tractor for him. It is a 1940 A series John Deere. It has been restored. I know nothing about tractors but told him I would research and find out what it is worth. Can anyone help me find a way to get a value on this thing? Please email me if you can. Thanks a lot.

This is one of those questions that have no right answers. It is worth what ever you can get out of it. I have paid an amount for some tractors that to some folks made me look like I fell off the turnip truck a little while ago. And it has been the other way. In selling tractors, I have taken an amount that again, to some folks, made me look like I got the short end of the stick. Follow your heart, what is "gold" to some, is junk to others.
