This motor will not charge and have replaced the stator twice and i still get the same readings on the regulator. I only get half the voltage of 28 amps that i'm supposed to get. Can the magnets on the flywheel loose there magnatism and cause this?? Please help as i don't want to buy a new flywheel if i don't have to. I have checked all other options and every thing seems to be working good. All hookups are right and the grounds are good. I'm lost for a answer HELP

I do not know much about Kohlers. But I do know electronics, if you have half the voltage on the regulator and it is solid state (diodes) one of them is bad. If it mechanical then it is an adjustment or spring problem. If this is not the case then you are missing half of your circuit, decrease in magnetism woulld cause a drop but half is a odd amount. Missing half of the magnats could cause half of the voltage if spaced properly. If I knew the full circuit I could trouble shoot it. Can you test the input to the regulator? is it DC or AC. Do you nhave an oscope to look at the circuit with. Try reading the regulator out put with meter on AC does it increase?

Good luck Ron

There is a mistake in the wording and there is supposed to be 28 volts and there is 14 volts on the regulator terminals.
