tore the old girl down, and the sleeve insert was shot. Now, after I get it cleaned up and am ready to insert the new one, any suggestions as what if anything would be the best kind of sealer to put on the rubber rings at the bottom. I can see why they had a leaking problem. Any suggestions as to coating any of these sleeve and head gaskets will be deeply appreciated. I want to make sure it is sealed tight. Thanks a lot, your input really has helped me in the past.

i installed the platform on my 2010 diesel about 3 months ago. i did a real good prep of the sealing surfaces (using a small wire wheel on a pneumatic die grinder). then i just used o-ring lubricant (like the john deere manual suggests) to lube the o-rings. then i slowly lowered the platform into the block, making sure it was straight the whole way down. now i no longer get water in my oil. good luck. joe

joe, did you use any sealer on the gasket surfaces under the platform?

yes,I used the copper-based, spray-on gasket sealer made by Permatex. I sprayed both sides of the gasket. I also used this on the head gasket. Good luck!
