How do you get the #@$^% manifold off? I have cut the bolts and ground them down to the top of the manifold and it still won't budge. The head is off of the tractor and setting in my shop floor. The tractor is a 1950 model S/N B259024.

Appreciate any help.

Jimbo clooney is right I had to do the same thing to my B. Only thing is it still did not budge. so i took 2 wide wood chisels and it finally popped loose. Also I did'nt have a torch to heat the bolts so I took it to my favorite machine shop. They got those rascals out plus I had them rework the head. Also where the manifold mounts at was pitted and they milled that so I had to smooth surfaces when everything was finished. Take care and have fun. Jim in Va.

Jimbo, you have about two choices at this point. First make sure ALL the bolts are cut off or removed then either use heat at all the bolt positions & keep rapping it with a hammer until it comes loose or my favorite, center punch the center of the bolts & drill them out to manifold diameter ( measure the height of the manifold & drill about 1/2-3/4" short of all the way through so you leave enough stud sticking up to weld a nut on or get vise-grips on. You can then fill the holes with oil or? or use heat at this time.
