"Farm and Country" (ph 1-888-828-3276) has a great free catalog with engine parts (pistons, connecting rods, bearings, rings, distributors, gaskets, seals, filters, manifolds, camshafts, heads, long blocks, short blocks) for all makes and models of tractors, including the 1010. The problem is that it takes two to three months after you order it for it to arrive, they don't acknowledge that fact and no one seems to know why, but it happens. Your local John Deere dealer can probably get the parts you need but at a "gold plated" price. You can order the parts you need from Clungston Ag & Turf, 3213 Black Gap Rd, Chambersberg, Pa. 17201-9732, Ph 717-263-4103, or from All Tractor Parts, 8000 NW 31st St #16, Miami, Fl 33122-3238 (sorry I don't have that phone number).

got my 1010 apart, Farm amd country has no internal engine parts for a 1010. Got the deck and pistons and all the rest at the JD dealer, takes 1 day to get anything I have needed They are high I guess, not many places carry a sleeve deck for a 1010. $420. I sure would try the alternate suppliers first. Good luck

The cheapest fix is the engine from a 40 combine for a 1010 or an early 45 combine for a 2010. The deck w/sleaves can only be obtained from JD.
